Fun for the Kids

The Newport Farmers’ Market is not just a place to find tasty local food and wonderful hand-made crafts.  Every Friday, during the summer season, local musicians perform in the bandstand at the market.  And, for our younger customers, the children’s librarian of the Richards Free Library performs book readings at 4 pm each market by the memorial statue in the middle of the Town Common.

And back by popular demand for the youngsters this year, Robert Ayotte returns with his custom-built train ride from an old lawn mower in Newport, NH.  He offers train rides to kids visiting the market for a small fee.  Ride in Mater from the movie Cars, or New this year, a fire engine!  The Fun Train’s ticket booth is located on the north end of the common by the monument, and this ride is inspected by the State of NH for your riding safety.
